The event is the Northwest’s largest conference and trade show for drinking water professionals. Hydrogeologists Jason Melady, RG, CWRE; Ted Ressler, RG, CWRE, PG; and DeEtta Fosbury, RG, will be attending.
DeEtta will be presenting on the topic of “Water Quality Challenges and Solutions for Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Systems” in a pre-conference workshop on Water Supply and ASR Permitting. The presentation will address some common water quality compliance challenges for municipal ASR systems, including disinfection by-product (DBP) formation during storage in the host aquifer and pH variability during recovery of stored water. Local case studies and solutions will be discussed. In addition, this presentation will provide an overview of ASR water quality monitoring requirements and strategies to avoid duplication with other drinking water requirements.
